Much interesting.. sequel to supcom 2??

Check this out:
Quote:|||If there is one, then I hope the story of SupCom2 is what Dotswarlock thought it ought to be.|||That question originated from these forums (specifically, me ;) so old news is old.
While we're on the topic of the CT interview, its a shame noone thought to ask if the 360 version is getting a patch. Although CT would probably be unable to answer, it might have been a chance to give those people a glimmer of hope.|||If dots wrote the story for any campaign, I'd buy it instantly for two reasons; 95% chance of being motherfucking awesome plus 4% chance of being great, and also simply out of respect.|||What's this about Dotswarlock? Can someone point me to the material that makes you think he would be badass?|||viewtopic.php?f=25&t=47920&p=835022#p835022
Mike|||Well, the sequel will all depend on if SE would be ready to fund it. Although I am pretty sure almost all of the supcom 2 fans would purchase it, so I see no reason for a Sequel to be in mind. hmm.. I can already see it.. 20 maps, a new faction, an epic storyline... The dlc is so epic, Imagine a sequel.|||i don't think we will see anything until like 2013 - 2014. With Koc coming next year, takes about 2 years to make a solid game. Expansion packs take about a year.|||I want Rhianne Burke, lol. :P|||commander_laurens|||Yes I think everyone would agree that we want the best of both worlds should there be a sequel. Take the streamlined gameplay of supcom 2 and combine with the scale and eco model of FA. A campaign that doesn't suck would be cool too.|||I would rather have a super big patch for supcom1 FA that has:
AI engine/routine/scripts of current version of Supcom2.
CPU ussage optimization.|||ghodan|||ghodan|||AdmiralZeech|||FA is already great, not really in need of a new engine. With the increases in hardware performance framerates are fine. The maps are old tech, but many like that because they can create new ones easily. Supcom2 may have better AI, but there were some AI mods for FA which might improve it.
For me, Supcom2 is already better anyway. Plus most of the hardcore "FA or die" fans left the game giving little incentive to GPG to bring back the past.|||Sequel or not, guys, I doubt it will be worthwhile to get unless they go back to their roots (mature unit/faction design, light-weight goal-oriented story which actually ISN'T silly ... dinosaur/protobrain/anime kiddies from college anyone?).
EDIT: Don't even mention 'streamlining'. It's 9 out of 10 times done wrong, resulting in dumbed down game. I'm sorry to say this, but strategy gaming is already a niche, and getting 'everyone and his dog' to play SupCom2 already proved itself to be a failure ... so if you want to make strategy games, think about something catering to your particular niche instead?|||Achilla|||Spam bot necros and people just casually continue the conversation. Haha. This community is great :D|||dawumyster|||Old news is old.|||By that argument, all necro is fine as long as real people are discussing it, which is fine and cool to be, really. I was just commenting on how seemliness the transition was. Business as usual.|||dawumyster|||ghodan|||The last cutscene makes me think of another Chris Taylor game...
"What began as a conflict over the transfer of consciousness from flesh to machines escalated into a war which has decimated a million worlds."
