Hardware advice requested

Myself and some mates have really been getting into playing SupCom2, and we've had some pretty long games. The problem is, I host, with usually 3 others joining my game, against 4xAI, and once we start getting past 100 units each, the game really slows down a lot, to the point where it can take 10 mins for a bunch of gunships to get from one side of the map to the other. Last night, the game took over 4hrs, although the game clock said 1hr 14mins! I'm running an i5, 8Gb ram, GTX285, win7 x64, and I'm on a 20Mb down/1.9Mb up internet connection. I want to play 3v3 with people, but the game slows too much. Any ideas on how I can speed things up?|||Your system is good to go how about the others?
It only takes 1 slow computer or poor connection to slow the whole game to a crawl.
Playing with AI's isn't helping, performance wise.|||Next time you play press f2 and check the sim speed once it starts slowing down. If it plays without lag in the begginning it prob isn't a slow connection but someones comp isn't quite up to speed, if you see a sim dropping anywhere from 2 to -5 that's bad, it's also worse in AI games as well like he said above. Anyway whoever has the slow sim speed is your culprite.|||Yes, the game doesnt work in a Server/Client relationship.
The host is purely the person who sets the game up.
It makes no difference to the performance of the game.
Its not like an FPS where the host PC is controlling the environments and the BOTs etc.
In this scenario if a client disconnects, then the game carries on.
If the Server crashes for whatever reason, the whole game is gone.
The way supcom works is that all data is passed to EVERY member playing.
This way if the server disconnects the game is carried on by the remaining players.
You are getting a slowdown because someones PC is a little weak.
The game will only run as FAST as the SLOWEST PC playing it.
