Disconnect detected after I won?

Greetings all.
I just played a ranked match and beat my opponent who surrendered. When I got to the game summary screen, it informed me: "Disconnect detected, disconnect threshold reached, counting match as a loss" and reduced my rating score. I have NEVER DC'd during a match.
Can anyone tell me what happened here or if anyone has had a similar problem?
Thanks,
T.|||If there is a disconnection, your opponent always dies on your screen. Whether he or you disconnected. Sometimes it happens at random, and sometimes its your internet/your opponent being a douchebag...|||Just for clarification: if it says "Disconnect Detected" on my side of the summary screen, does that mean that I disconnected? I have had this a couple of times and I assumed it was my opponent. However, it could be that my connection went down.
Is there not some sort of "time out" in case it's a temporary loss of connection?|||this has kinda happened to me, and I already made a thread. I was in the game, but it was as if I had dc'd but I jumped right back into another game as soon as it kicked me out.|||smugger|||tucksterble|||Actually, there is a timeout. You have to not receive information from a player for 10 seconds for the connection to drop, unless Steam is doing something behind the scenes I am unaware of that is causing that process to speed up.|||sorian|||tucksterble|||Nephylim|||One tangential suggestion: change the text on the Network Interruption dialog. The first time I had a network interruption, I thought the "Ok" button would close the dialog and let me wait, instead it disconnected me. If it said "Quit game" it might prevent some confusion.
