After lots of skirmish preparation, I have been playing Supreme Commander 2 by voice for about one week. Before that, I did some Forged Alliance. It rocks IMO.

... release any prior units/actions, IOW free the pointer
... click, select unit under pointer if any
... assign selected worker to group 7 or clear group 7
... (next four actions) prepare to build electricity plant
... hold shift
That way... If you want to use a local worker instead of the nearest idle worker, make sure that worker is under the pointer. If nothing is under the pointer, the nearest idle worker will be used. The new task (building electricity generators) is appended to the selected worker's queue. That works well once you get used to the fact that you should have nothing under the pointer if you want to use an idle worker, it is easy enough even in busy war environments. There is another similar command that uses "stop" to have a selected worker start the new task immediately.
Holding shift at the end of the script is no problem since practically every script starts by releasing shift. Assigning the unit to group 7 and then selecting group 7 seems to eliminate timing problems, it allows the script to run reliably while much faster.

That is a typical voice-activated script for producing fighters. You hover the pointer where you want the rally location and you specify the number of fighters in the command after you say "jet". Saying "jet five" produces five jets from the nearest aircraft factory and rallies them at your pointer location.
I have a jillion scripts. Voice activation is light years ahead of keyboard activation. Finding keystroke combinations is not an issue, and remembering the voice commands is easy. Most of my voice commands are one or two syllables.
If you want more information, please feel free to bring up the subject in the unmoderated UseNet group (comp.lang.beta) or (comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic). I cannot hang out in typical web forums where moderators force me to coddle sheep. Freedom of (and from) speech is a wonderful thing.
If I've made any typos, formatting, or technical errors in my explanation, or if I have not been perfectly clear, my apologies in advance.
Good luck and have fun.|||You should make a youtube video demonstrating this.|||yeah i would like to see it, controlling by voice...
it would be interesting
but what happens in a intense moment and you start yelling and units do nothing
MOVE MOVE MOVE|||This might be an interesting future mod, to say the least. Although, at a first glance, it doesn't look like an easy modding project; to say the least.
