Subject says it all. And hi again. :)
I always thought it was +0.|||You had it right; normal gamespeed is +0.
Each +1 is about 26% faster than the previous.|||It is 0.
Game default sim speed starts at 0, if you drop below 0 in the F2 menu, the game will begin to slow down.
if you hit + on your numpad once while adjustable speed is enabled, you'll go to +1. If you hit * on the numpad when adjustable speed is enabled, it'll return the gamespeed immediately to the default regardless of what it was set to at the time. It outright states that it returns it to 0.
I've run into people who think it's one, as well. It's blatantly incorrect, but it figures that the only people stupid enough to host adjustable speed 3v3's would also be stupid enough to think +1 is default based on absolutely nothing|||For some reason I was confused as well. I'm usually certain that its +0, but in replays, when you click on the Plus button once, it goes to +2.|||AdmiralZeech|||I'm actually pretty supiscious that 0 in game and 0 in replays is a different speed|||spuddyt|||'Normal' as in a one second to one second ratio real time to game time is 0.
However in SupCom2 Multiplayer it appears as though 'Normal' gamespeed is indeed +1. Set your game speed to Adjustable, and hit + once and you are set at +2.
I assume this is to both keep the game exciting (things move a little slow at 0 speed), and compensate for time lost due to lag.|||vax2007|||Z32|||Just did a test with a stopwatch, and different game modes.
"Normal game speed" is 48 real seconds for every 1 minute in game.
"adjustable game speed" with a setting of +1 is 48 real seconds for every 1 minute in game.
"adjustable game speed" with a setting of 0 is 1 real minute for every 1 minute in game.
Hot Hollowpoint got it right.
Normal game speed is +1
If you want a real 1 seconds for 1 second, you need to set it to 0 which is 1 less than a "Normal" game speed setting.
Tested assassination, infinite war, and adjustable for the normal speed and got the same 48 real seconds for every 1 minute in game. (did not test supremacy, but I would assume it is the same) I did this just in case different game modes started off at different speeds, because I know for a fact that Adjustable starts off at +1. I was just verifying that the others started at the same speed as Adjustable - which they do.
I did not test a ranked game. Perhaps it runs at a different speed, but for a regular multiplayer game, Normal is +1. If a ranked game does in fact run at a different speed, this is where the confusion is stemming from.
Well Vax, I guess KattyKate was right, eh?|||Wow. I totally wasn't expecting that.
Learn something new every day.|||Reading this thread reminds me that allot of people here need to get laid.
Big time.|||I also noticed this. When playing with adjustable time it starts off at +1... thought it was interesting. I usually just hit the minus a few minutes in to return the game to 0.|||Keshik|||RPhilMan1|||Keshik|||steveb mentioned this a long time ago actually. The default speed for the 360 version is 0 while the default speed for the pc version was set to +1 (maybe after one of the patches though, not right from the start, I don't quite remember the details).|||The default gamespeed for multiplayer is set to +1, whereas single-player and replays default to zero. This occurred pre-release, and by the time we found the bug, multiplayer had already been extensively playtested and tuned at the new speeds, so we decided it was safer to keep everything as-is.
- Servo|||GPG-Servo|||GPG-Servo|||I would like it if, in some future patch, the numbers were changed so that singleplayer is -1 and multi is 0 again.
Can you even adjust speed in singleplayer? I dont think they'd ever notice the "-1" right?|||Quote:|||AdmiralZeech|||Yeah, but that's pretty much unavoidable now, since +1 is the default speed forever more due to gameplay reasons.
Actually, why not change the calibration of the onscreen clock?
It can "display" 60 seconds when the actual ingame measurements are 48 seconds.
It's an easy, purely cosmetic change.
I guess all the display values for buildtimes and the like would also need to be changed too, though. But still pretty easy.
