[:1]Now that the DLC has released, a brief discussion of specifics related to the "DLC Enabled" checkbox on the main menu is due. The checkbox was set up as the Universal Solvent for all DLC, and allows the user to one-click the type of game they see and play without requiring the complex overhead present in the separated builds of Forged Alliance.
- With the DLC enabled, players will only see multiplayer games of other players with DLC enabled. With DLC disabled players will only see multiplayer games of other players who either don't have their DLC enabled or don't have DLC. The Friends tab and Steam interface do not filter listings, so you can still see all your SC2 and Steam friends and join their games. The host will be prompted if non-DLC friends have joined his lobby using this method.
- Skirmish saves and replays created with DLC enabled will only display when DLC is enabled. SKrimsh saves and replays created with DLC disabled will only display when DLC is disabled. Future updates will patch both DLC and vanilla simultaneously, so the version number will still be relevant to replays (and possibly saves).
- Ranked and Unranked searching with DLC enabled will search for other players with DLC enabled, DLC units and reasearch are available in these matches. With DLC disabled Ranked and Unranked searches will search for other players with DLC disabled, or who do not have DLC, these matches will not have DLC in them.
- The Exclusion "No DLC units" removes the DLC units from a match, but allows players to play on new DLC maps (or exisitng maps) with the new research, but without the new units. This exclusion has no effect if players are playing without DLC or with DLC disabled.
